Neiman Marcus opened this store in 1988 at Tysons Galleria. it is the second Neiman Marcus in the Washington area.

  1. Quite an improvement over the debacle in Atlanta. You know, the store in Lenox Square with the akward navigation and gaudy lime green carpeting. That is supposed to be perceived as an upscale department store?

    I guess the mall is to blame somewhat, but that will be for another post.

  2. Keep in mind that NM Lenox Square was originally opened in 1973 and expanded several times.

    Neiman Marcus is not known for their extensive renovations either, so the multiple forces combine to create a dated and awkward, but classy experience. That's the NM way!

    The store above opened in 1987, so parts of it are really tragic as well, I just didn't photgraph a lot of the uglier stuff.
