True, they do make the area look more animated, warm and inviting. I think more department stores should incorporate them in their designs- especially if they're anchoring a lifestyle center.
Dillard's is leading the way on bringing back showcases to department stores. Nordstrom has always had them, from what I can tell, and strangely May Company started bringing them back in the late stages of its life.
Gasp! You mean Dillards is capable of designing a department store entrance without arches?
ReplyDeleteAlmost. There's a low arch over the entrance. And I'd imagine there's some big arches on the other entrances.
