  1. These yellow page adds could pass for 1952 or 1942, as well as 1962.
    I makes me wonder if the add layout was used for several years in the phonebooks.

    They also convey that department stores were more than overpriced clothing and cosmetic stores with upscale home furnishings and small electrics. They were truly lifestyle stores, not to steal from Safeway, or lifestyle center developers.

  2. They do have that timeless mid-century look to them. More than likely, they were used over and over.

    I would have loved to have seen Belk and Ivey's in their downtown prime. It looks like they sold a little bit of everything.
