I don't think it did. Ivey's operated as a division of Dillard's for about six months in 1990, but the store name and signage wasn't officially changed until October, when the Hanes Mall store opened. By then, the Uptown Charlotte store had closed.
I would need jpg files 640 x 480 resolution along with photo credit and caption information. Send the photos to stevesblog AT gmail DOT com and allow me a few weeks to post, as I do this as a hobby.
When was it that the downtown Belk closed? I notice in this picture that the skyway is no longer there, but I can't remember if Belk had closed by the time Hugo rolled into town or not...
Poor Ivey's! I miss having a department store downtown. Anybody know what used to be across 5th from Ivey's?
Wow, what a great photo of a store that I'm told was even greater. My step-mother always waxes nostalgic about Ivey's in Orlando. They must have been great stores with even greater merchandise. MORE, PLEASE! :)
wow cool pic! Was this store ever a Dillards or did it close before ever making the Iveys to Dillards transition?

Belk closed in 1988, so it was gone by the time Hugo hit. No clue what used to be across from Ivey's.
