I agree. A whitewashed store would look very odd here. This is one seriously earth-toned mall!
Even with a very plain, brutalist exterior, brick looks far richer than the cheap gray and white stucco these days. Plus, brick like this doesn't mildew as fast as its put up.
Synthetic stucco is the bane of modern building design.
