This is the first ever Elder-Beerman I've seen. It looks far better than comments had led me to believe, that placed the chain more in line with a Peebles or other Stage store banner.
ReplyDeleteActually the store looks on par with a Belk and moreso with the former Proffit's and McRae's, which isn't surprising since E-B seems to favor the similar type markets in the Midwest as Belk does in the Southeast as well as sharing Saks Inc ownership with the the latter two. I actually like the name and script better than the Bon-Ton.
Elder-Beerman's biggest stores easily rival equivalent Macy's, Belk and Dillard's locations. They're not super-upscale, but they usually represent a higher level of shopping in the communities they serve.
ReplyDeleteThe entrance you have pictured is closed as of December, 2012, with a large white cover behind the glass.
