Wonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'd been saving these for a while.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you have to eat? Are those onion rings? Looks tasty in any event.
ReplyDeleteDo all NMs have a restaurant?
Oh, and I noticed the sculpture in the escalator well...I seem to remember that we have a similar sculpture in Charlotte. Is that also a standard NM thing?
Thanks as always for sharing!
Neither my mom or I were very hungry that day, so we shared an entree and had several appetizers. All selections were delicious.
ReplyDeleteWe started with Neiman Marcus's signature popovers with strawberry butter and chicken broth. We then had beer battered onion rings with a spicy horseradish aoli and sweet potato chips. The entree was a pasta dish. I don't remember having dessert, but we did finish with espresso. It was slightly pricey, but I put it on my NM charge.
Most Neiman Marcus stores have restaurants, but not all do. For example, Tysons Galleria and King of Prussia have NM Cafe and the Zodiac restaurant, respectively. Charlotte and Mazza Gallerie do not have any food service.
The butterfly sculpture ties back to the butterfly being a long-time symbol of Neiman Marcus, but it wasn't something that was explicitly displayed until recently. Charlotte opened with the sculpture in the escalator well, but this store added it a couple of years ago. Mazza Gallerie has it too, but Tysons Galleria does not.
.....san antonio's la cantera has butterflies also
ReplyDeleteWow. The only word I can say is elegant.
ReplyDeleteTodd: That's a fairly new store, right? Not surprising. [PS: good to hear from you :-) ]
ReplyDeletect36: This location and the one in Chicago are probably my favorite NM stores (that I've been to anyway).
I really like it too. And the Chicago one. I like the ones at SouthPark and Lenox. Then again, SP, Lenox and KOP are the only ones that I have been to.
ReplyDeleteNeiman Marcus The Shoppes at La Cantera opened in 2006 or 2005.
I've been to NM King of Prussia, Mazza Gallerie, Tysons Galleria, SouthPark, and Chicago. I've been to Bergdorf Goodman as well.
ReplyDeletehi - yes, la cantera is new.... i'll send you some photos (where to??) .....the family and i were there just last nite. la cantera is very nice indeed. we live in san antonio now.... a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the Charlotte one a tad bit better.
ReplyDeleteTodd: I think you may have my email, but if not, it's stevesblog AT gmail DOT com. I prefer 640 x 480 resolution photos, because I have dial-up and bigger photos tend to take forever to download.
ReplyDeletect36: The SouthPark store is a little more contemporary, so I can see digging it. I personally like this one a little better.
I really love those butterflies. lol
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty.
